The Poppy is absolutely lovely and we fell in love with it! It feels like home, and there’s a camaraderie with the other guests that really makes it feel like the Poppy Community - where everyone is in the know about how special this place is. The Parlor is warm and inviting and the decor is fabulous. The Poppy mugs are adorable. The outdoor patios offer a beautiful retreat, and are heated with patio heaters and fire pits. The owners are incredible, so personable, and went the extra mile to ensure we had a memorable stay. Lastly, Georgetown is the most beautiful part of DC, safe quaint and historical. We were able to get anywhere in DC within 20 minutes. A+++ 10/10.

Cute spot. Probably the cleanest hotel/hostel I’ve stayed at, and with friendly staff. I had one of the rooms on the second floor immediately after the entrance. The windows opened to the street, which introduced some noise, and being so close to the entrance I could hear everyone come in and out. There was a noise cancelling machine built into the room, but it didn’t do much for me. The AC didn’t run very well either so the freezing November nights got pretty chilly. I think it’s the perfect spot for a cozy stay in Georgetown if you arrive in mid-spring to enjoy the garden and DC’s good weather. Try to snag one of the quieter rooms in the back of the property!

A classic Georgetown home converted into a hotel that blends perfectly into the vibe of the surrounding neighborhood. Every detail was considered, we particularly loved the included breakfast spread and self serve coffee machine all day. The keyless entry was a great touch, it was nice to never have to remember a room key upon leaving. We loved sitting out in the back gardens under an umbrella in the rain sipping our coffees, what a surreal and tranquil place in the middle of the city. We have recommended this hotel to anyone who will listen to us since returning home, and we will certainly be returning at our earliest opportunity.

For a hotel close to a major city, The Poppy Georgetown Guesthouse is extremely quite and the location is perfect. We stayed in a King Room with Bath - the room was very spacious. The guesthose is within walking distance of Georgetown's many shops, bars and restaurants, including the waterfront. You can also walk to all the main attractions in downtown Washington if you feel so inclined, although it's only a short hop in an Uber. Due to a flight delay, we arrived late at night. Nico was extremely helpful and provided an easy-to-remember door code to make our arrival and check-in as smooth as possible.

The back gardens of the hotel are just amazing to have in an urban location like Georgetown. Absolutely beautiful. Also, the self-help breakfast and snack area, with snacks, coffee and tea available 24/7, were excellent. A very "live and let live" kind of environment where you can enjoy yourself peacefully. Staff were very nice. Location is superb - in the beautiful, historic Georgetown neighborhood, but only a 10 minute walk to DuPont Circle shops, restaurants and Metro stop.
